Describe Selmo in three words?

Our solution combine technological intelligence with innovative software architecture and is clearly geared towards the challenges of the future. We believe in the power of standardization to make processes safer, more efficient and more sustainable.

What made ALTEN an exciting partner for you and what does the partnership mean strategically?

The decision to move into the future together right from the start was a strong signal for us. ALTEN has impressive implementation power and speed - qualities that are not often found in this combination in the industry. Strategically, the partnership means that we are working with a global engineering partner that is active in our most important target markets. This enables us to scale our solutions more quickly and offer our customers a seamless service. Together, we want to set new standards - in efficiency, transparency and innovative strength in engineering.

What expectations and challenges are customers currently facing - and how is the partnership meeting them?

Many companies are currently facing the challenge of combining established automation solutions with new digital requirements. Expectations range from greater efficiency and flexibility to more transparency and standardization in control technology. This is precisely where we come in together with ALTEN: With structured processes, a standardized software solution and scalable models, we help to close this gap. We encourage the courage to change - away from historically evolved systems that are often difficult to understand and towards a future-oriented, modular architecture. This openness to new software models not only strengthens our customers, but also the European innovation location as a whole.

What do you think are the biggest problems in the industry at the moment?

The three main challenges are complexity, a shortage of skilled workers and a lack of transparency in existing control systems. Many companies are struggling with heterogeneous automation solutions that have grown over the years, which are difficult to maintain and even more difficult to scale. Selmo offers a completely new approach here: our software model simplifies complex workflows, makes processes comprehensible and implements them automatically - regardless of the hardware used. This not only lowers the entry barriers for new employees, but also enables significantly greater agility and reliability in ongoing operations.

Which industries or markets would you like to open up even more through the partnership?

We see great potential in manufacturing companies and OEMs that are currently undergoing digital transformation or are facing the challenge of making existing systems fit for the future through retrofit projects. With our Selmo OT strategy, we provide these companies with holistic support - from asking the right questions and selecting suitable technologies to structured implementation. The aim is to create sustainable standards that work in the long term. This means real added value - in production, in planning and ultimately in the entire value chain.
