Two dedicated students from HTL Wolfsberg thoroughly tested the Selmo Solution as part of their diploma thesis. This article provides exciting insights into the experiences of these two students and highlights how Selmo, compared to traditional programming methods, not only accelerates processes but also serves as a key to optimal employee qualification.
Learning the Selmo method proved to be a straightforward journey for HTL students Emil Miklautsch and Florian Jöbstl. Compared to the process of grasping traditional programming methods, where outdated information and arduous research are often the norm, they encountered a steep learning curve with Selmo. Supported by the Selmo Academy and easily comprehensible tutorial videos, they found that getting started was easier than expected.
Both agreed that the Selmo Solution is especially the clear choice for beginners. In contrast to traditional approaches that use various programming languages, Selmo also enables individuals with limited to minimal programming knowledge to achieve reliable machine automation.
An impressive advantage of Selmo's technology is the significant reduction in development time compared to traditional methods. The students appreciate the straightforward operation of the Selmo Studio and the automatic generation of code and HMI:
Emil emphasizes that they were able to successfully apply Selmo in practical situations shortly after starting. The machine project was swiftly executed, and even when facing more complex tasks, they were able to proceed efficiently with the assistance of Selmo. The method facilitated a streamlined commissioning process and eased adaptation to various projects.
A distinct contrast from traditional programming lies in the reduced manual input. Selmo employs a low-code/no-code approach, enabling a uniform course of action through process modeling.
Emil and Florian are impressed by various aspects of the Selmo Studio:
The practical test by HTL students underlines that Selmo is not only an alternative to conventional programming methods in machine automation, but also a key success factor for long-term challenges such as the skills shortage. Time savings, user-friendliness, and the automated generation of code and HMI are just a few aspects that make Selmo a 4.0 automation solution.
Visit the Selmo Academy and discover how your team can efficiently model reliable machines in no time.
